Divine Guidance

About the Author

I was born Howard Eugene Green, in 1951, in a small rural town on a farm in Zuni, VA. As a youth, I enjoyed the country life and being a member of a large family. I am the sixth of twelve children, six boys and six girls. We learned to be responsible and to help take care of one another very early in life. After completing high school, I worked my way through undergraduate school at Virginia State College, now Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA. I went to Scarritt College for Christian Workers in Nashville, Tennessee and earned a Masters degree in Christian Education.

I began to develop a passion to write as a youth in high school and have continued ever since. Writing became a way to release pent-up emotions and express myself in a non-threatening way. Writing became a release, my medium of expression, fun and reflection. Divine Guidance is a slice of life from my college years at Virginia State. It is a call for direction in decision making. It envisions the time to seek guidance as life’s many situations confront you while you journey along the highway of life. It is at these moments that we truly need divine guidance.
